Don’t start your engines. We are all supposed to be resting this
week. Really. I know. It drives me crazy too. But…
Some logistics:
With three runners” auto passes in hand the trip up is free but only if you are alone.
Still before the race if it’s a hot day and maybe even if it isn’t you can join Matt in submerging yourself in the icy stream under the bridge. First one to a body temperature of 90 wins. Or just watch him.
Traffic avoidance hint:
Just as you reach the end of the Main Street commercial section of Conway, past the movie theater on the left, you come to a traffic light. Take left on West Hill road, follow it. You’ll come to a T shaped intersection, go left. That will take you to Rte 302. Go right. You’ll soon come to a busy intersection with a major left turn toward Jackson. Take it. You will had cut out a half hour inching along through the North Conway outlets and downtown. Reverse on Sunday afternoon.
Guide missing
Somewhere in cyberspace there is a file telling first time runners what to expect on the weekend. But I can’t find it. If I do I’ll send it along. If I don’t find it follow these three rules:
1. Be reverent toward BobT. Or else.
2. When you walk, either because you must or because you should, walk purposefully then make yourself start running again. Do that about 100, 150 times and you’ll be at the top.
3. If you get to the top before me don’t eat the last egg salad sandwich in the cafeteria. That’s mine.
